Long Week

Well I think today I learned a very valuable lesson. My anxiety has been pretty non-existent for the last few weeks and it appears that because of this I have forgotten to take my medication for the last 4 days or so (this is approximately the last time I remember taking them). So, today, I woke with a panic attack at 5 am. My anxiety level has since then been pretty high today. I did take my meds today but after being off of them for almost a week it doesn’t seem to be doing much good.

I have spent the day trying to use mindfulness to help with the anxiety and even this does not seem to be working today :( It appears nothing that I usually fall back on wants to be effective today. Oh well such is life I guess. We have to take the good with the bad. There’s always tomorrow to get things done….

What do you do when nothing that usually works appears to work? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Have a great day!

  • It worked. I got to read the whole thing! I, too, didn’t take my medicine for a couple of days before (this was due to taking too long to reorder it though and then the doctor took a while to call it in). I too felt a little extra anxious. I think it can be really hard to relax sometimes. I find watching TV or reading a good book helps to distract the mind. Hope that helps.

    • I don’t know why I didn’t think about reading. I love to read and it’s always very relaxing for me. Thank you for reminding me of that!
