Homemade Vanilla is actually easier than you think, however, it does take time.
empty bottle like this or one you already have a home will work too
alcohol (30 – 40% alcohol by volume) Vodka or Bourbon work well

- Cut vanilla beans lengthwise and scrape out the caviar (or vanilla seeds) place into bottle. Cut vanilla beans in half if needed to fit in bottle.
- fill with vodka or bourbon
4. Shake about once a week.
5. 6 weeks in it should be darker and done. Strain vanilla through cheesecloth and store in dark bottles.
