A Letter to my Daughter
I can’t believe you are 19 today. It still seems like yesterday that you were in preschool or going to work with me at the pet store. The time has sure flown by. I know that I wasn’t there a lot when you were growing up because I had to work, but believe me I did the best I could.
I will tell you kid, many days I wanted to pull my hair out when you were younger because of the way you would behave (and sometimes even now still), but I wouldn’t change anything. You are growing into a young lady and I am both excited about this and sad about this too.
I am excited because you are growing and will be spreading your wings soon. I am sad because you are growing and will be spreading your wings soon. Does that not make sense? lol….kiddo I will tell you a lot will not make sense to you as you continue to get older.
I wanted to post some pictures from when you were younger but at the same time I didn’t want to embarrass you either. Because as you know mom’s are very good at that. But I do want you to see what you have become: a beautiful young woman.
You have gone through some crazy hair dos and probably what some would say are don’ts.
lol But we have to learn and grow somehow. And oh, how you have grown. Through dance class
and our trip to Oklahoma. I know you thought that was a miserable time, but look at the memories of our time there and yes, while we all missed home we did make some great memories.
You are becoming a woman and it will be hard to figure out, but as I have always told you, if you put your mind to it, you can do anything! I still believe this today. You are strong willed (which isn’t always a good thing), kind-hearted, and just a good person (most of the time ;) ). I know that if you put your mind to it, you can do anything you want to.
I love you,
